Grace + Jodie is a creative studio with a focus on handcrafted jewelry and accessories.  Founded in 2013, my design approach is characterized by a multi-disciplinary ethos, embracing creative ideas, experimentation, and collaborations. M y  J o u r n e y

I draw inspiration from art, architecture and crafts.  Whilst I've taken many classes and workshops, I consider myself to be self taught and always learning.  I've always have a passion for designing at a very young age.  I recall spending hours handcrafting, sewing, painting for my family, friends and myself.

​

I believe that the uniqueness and authenticity of my designs could only be conveyed by making each piece by hand.  Each design within every collection is completely handcrafted in my home studio.

​

Often times, designs start out as an idea in my head and a quick sketch in my notebook.  Most times it is the stone or material I am working with that speaks to me.

​

This work is my utmost joy and knowing it can make others happy too compounds that joy tenfold.  It is an honor to be part of your story.

Some of my creation is a random uncontrolled shape, other times in a more controlled manner and then combining all elements with jewelry pieces and precious metal.  I revel in a lack of control, allowing chaos to take over and the nature of the precious materials to dictate the final outcome of the new pieces.

​

​My collection is constantly developing and through different creative processes new pieces emerge all the time, ensuring that no two are identical.

​​​Craftsmanship

Each piece of jewelry is meticulously handcrafted using only high-quality Japanese Miyuki Rocaille beads or Toho beads and high quality yarns. I carefully select beads in various sizes and colors to achieve the desired aesthetic.

In a world where mass-produced accessories dominate the market, my focus is creating handcrafted jewelry that stands out for its artistry and individuality.  Through the fusion of traditional craftsmanship of metalsmithing, bead crochet, embroidery and beading techniques with a contemporary design concept , I strive to offer jewelry that is not just a fashion statement but also a wearable piece of art.
